Is It Possible to Lose 20 Pounds a Week?

So you want to lose 20 pounds a week? If yes, then this article will provide you with an answer if it is possible? And if yes then how you can do the same?

You see losing 20 pounds a week is a very ambitious goal, almost bordering to the limit of impossibility. The reason I say this is because without the help of some surgical knife it will be very difficult to do so. But behold, all hope is not lost.

Before going into the weight loss process, you need to analyze as to why you weigh so much? What I mean by that is, what factors are responsible for such a huge weight that you have to think in terms of losing 20 pounds in one single week. Don’t get me wrong, it is definitely an achievable aim but not for everybody. You certainly did not gained this much weight overnight so it would be foolish to believe that you can lose it in a week.

Your body is simply a mirror projection of your lifestyle. You must take a hard look at the amount and type of food that you consume on a daily basis. Is it a high calorie content diet? If yes, then what are the alternatives to this? You must also consult a doctor to check if there’s any medical reason as to why your body is able to accumulate so much fat instead of burning it. Remember, changing your lifestyle will see you getting results over time.

Also keep in mind that getting rid of 20 pounds in a week is not the same as losing 20 pounds of fat. When you lose weight then in addition to fat, you also lose muscle and water content from your body.

So is it possible to lose 20 pounds in a week? Well it depends on your current body weight. An average person weighs around 130 pounds and if you weigh twice as much (somewhere around 270 pounds) then you can definitely lose 20 pounds in a week. This is because when you weigh more, then your body can burn more calories with fewer efforts. Now this of course does not mean that it will happen with little or no effort but on the contrary you have to make a firm commitment to yourself to make it happen.

Make sure you remain active all day. Yes, by active I do mean that you have to go to gym everyday. While in gym, you have to focus on toning your muscles. This would mean working out with weights by focusing on doing more repetitions with less weight. You have to do the same for any body part be it arms, legs or back. Make sure you do this for at least 1 hour. Don’t indulge in any kind of cardio since you run the risk of getting a sprain due to high weight. After this there’s time for some strenuous running. Run for at least six to seven miles non stop. Of course you can’t expect to get to this level on your first day itself but make sure you run a lot and get to this level within the first 3 days. If you get to this level then your 20 pound weight loss is assured within a week because you will be continuously burning stored fats and proteins which are primarily responsible for your huge weight.

Again this is only for those who have a lot of fat in their body. In case you have a muscular frame with little or no fat then you can’t really burn much. In case you still want to lose weight then you can do so by following a new diet which promises to burn at least 9 pounds every 11 days. This diet is known as fat loss for idiots and the best thing about this is that you don’t have to starve yourself at all in order to lose weight. This diet suggests eating multiple small meals during the entire day by utilizing the principle of “calorie shifting”.

I hope this article provides an adequate answer to how you can lose 20 pounds a week.
